Most of the review industry — and I speak of the broader industry, not just that of the synth world — revolves around getting the word out on a product as early as possible. Follow-ups are rare. Even deep dives are often fairly shallow, due to the reviewer simply not having had more than a couple of hours with the product. And in some cases — which are perhaps entertaining but not always useful to shoppers — the review serves primarily as a means for the creator to jam out on a new instrument and make sponsored content out of it.
My intent is to provide long-term reviews that highlight aspects of synthesizers and Eurorack modules that may not be obvious to first-time users or even to careful readers of the manual. In fact, these reviews will assume you already understand the basic features of the synth. If the specs and features are what you seek, loopop and co. already do a much better job of presenting them than I ever will.
